Guy

Information
This was one of the great animated shows on Fox. It was created by Seth MacFarlane and many voices were done by him too. I watched it all the time and I would even tape them sometimes, but than someone had to be gay and cancel it. The show was on for three seasons Volume One DVD came out resently and it was good. At least I can still watch it on the Cartoon Network during Adult Swim.
The show is about the Griffin family that lives at 31 Spooner Street, Quahog, Rhode Island.

Family Guy: New Eps Early 2005

FAMILY GUY RETURNS TO PRODUCTION WITH AN INITIAL ORDER OF 22 NEW EPISODES TO PREMIERE IN EARLY 2005

Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series confirmed to run on Cartoon Network; FOX Broadcasting Company retains broadcast window

In an unprecedented move, 20th Century Fox Television has committed to producing a minimum of 22 new half-hour episodes of Seth MacFarlanes Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series FAMILY GUY more than two years after the series aired its last original episode. The move comes on the heels of the series elevation to pop culture phenomenon, particularly among the traditionally hard-to-reach young adult demographic, as demonstrated by its enormous success on DVD and on the Cartoon Network. In 2003, FAMILY GUY was the #1 selling TV property on DVD. On Cartoon Network, FAMILY GUY ranks #1 in its time period on cable among Adults and Men 18-34 and Adults and Men 18-24, and also beats both The Late Show with David Letterman and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno in head-to-head competition among Men 18-34 and Men 18-24.

The new episodes will be available in early 2005 to be shown on Adult Swim, Cartoon Networks late night block of animated programming for adults on which FAMILY GUY currently ranks as the #1 show. The Fox Broadcasting Company has an option to license the original runs of those new episodes.

Seth MacFarlane, creator and executive producer of FAMILY GUY and two-time Emmy Award winner for his work on the series, and producer Kara Vallow are currently assembling the writing and production staff for the new episodes.

This is incredibly exciting for everyone at Fox, enthused 20th Century Fox TV President Gary Newman. The overwhelming response to Family Guy this past year is a real tribute to Seths vision and talent and its been really gratifying to all the executives who never stopped championing him and the show. The fact that after all this time we were able figure out a way to get back into production is a testament both to Seths passion for keeping it alive and some really great teamwork among the executives at our studio and home entertainment and syndication divisions and those at Turner and the Cartoon Network. Were thrilled for Seth, were thrilled for his fans, and to be honest were thrilled for our teenage kids who threatened to emancipate themselves if we didnt figure out a way to bring the show back.

Commented Seth MacFarlane, Im just incredibly excited that were back in business on Family Guy. Now all those crazy kids whove been hounding me to bring the show back can stop bothering me and move onto more serious matters like saving Coupling.

FAMILY GUY chronicles the lives of the Griffin family, a tight-knit but tense nuclear family living in Quahog, Rhode Island. Peter, the loving but not-overly-ambitious patriarch, and Lois, his devoted wife, maintain a comfortable middle class home. Teen queen Meg, slacker Chris and homicidal infant Stewie round out the Griffin brood, but the most sensible and well-spoken member of the clan is the family dog, Brian. FAMILY GUY had its series preview on FOX on January 31, 1999 following the Super Bowl and its series premiere on April 11, 1999. It earned an Emmy Award in 2000 for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance (Seth MacFarlane) and an Emmy Award in 2002 for Outstanding Music & Lyrics (Walter Murphy and Seth MacFarlane) and was nominated for Outstanding Animated Series in 2000. The final original episode aired February 14, 2002. FAMILY GUY joined Cartoon Networks Adult Swim on Sunday, April 20, 2003 and immediately became the blocks top-rated programming, dominating late night viewing in its time period vs. cable and broadcast competition.

Bringing Family Guy to the Adult Swim lineup last April really helped turn the block into a cultural phenomenon with young adults, said Jim Samples, Cartoon Network executive vice president and general manager. Now, as the destination for new episodes of what has become the blocks most popular series, Family Guy will help boost Adult Swim to the next level in terms of buzz and ratings. We could not be more excited to have Seth and 20th Century Fox Television on board as Adult Swim continues its growth as the best place on TV for young adults.

Information
How many sponges do you know who get their own hit cartoon series? The list may be limited, but SpongeBob stands out from the rest. Relentlessly optimistic SpongeBob SquarePants lives in the undersea township of Bikini Bottom, along with an assortment of zany supporting characters. Among them is his best friend, the lovable - but dim - sea star named Patrick; the irritable perfectionist neighbor named Squidward; and an athletic squirrel named Sandy who lives in an undersea treedome. SpongeBob is employed as a fry cook at the local burger place, The Krusty Krab, which is operated by a penny-pinching old crustacean named Mr. Krabs.

The show launched in the summer of 1999, and quickly became one of the highest-rated cartoons on television. The show has a wide and loyal fan base. In fact, many celebrities are taken away by SpongeBob's antics!

Jackie Chan
Adventures

Jackie Chan is now a cartoon character in his very own television series, battling to obtain the 12 magic talismans, each containing its very own power. He and his uncle get a visit from Jackie's niece - Jade - and that's when Jackie finds out about Section 13 and the magic talismans which the Dark Hand are trying to retrieve to free the trapped Dragon, Shendu, from his prison of stone, so he will give them the lost treasure of Shen Che Hun. Jackie Chan defeated the Dark Hand almost every time, so Shendu had to use his own allies - The Shadowkhan - to help them destroy Jackie Chan. All the talismans that were found were placed in high security in Section 13. While Jackie Chan continued to obtain each and every talisman, the Dark Hand also tried to figure out where Section 13 was located to steal the Talismans and continue searching for the remaining stones. Soon, all of the Talismans were collected and Shendu was freed from his stone form. Now, he was able to roam the Earth and destroy all of Asia, but Jackie Chan, with Uncle and Jade, stopped him and Jade destroyed him.

In Season 2, Shendu's spirit is told by his brothers and sister that he should've released him when he was in the real world and they put a spell on him to possess a person to get the Pan Ku box and remain in that person's body until all of the 7 demon sorcerers are released [Which he plans to possess Jackie Chan]. If he fails, the torment on Shendu will begin. After taking over Valmont's body mistakenly, he must free the other demons to reign chaos on the planet. He then possessed the Pan Ku Box which can release his fellow demons at different rendezvous points and bring chaos upon the Earth and to destroy Jackie Chan. Jackie continues to search for the Pan Ku box and retrieve it before the Dark Hand actually sends a demon he cannot defeat with Uncle, Jade, and Tohru.

In Season 3, just as Jackie is ready to retire from Section 13, Daolon Wong AND the Dark Hand break into Section 13, trying to steal the talismans. But, Jackie blows up the talismans so they must now save the talisman powered animals from Daolon Wong and his newly Dark Chi warriorized servants Finn, Ratso, and Chow...and later Hak Foo. Even at the time Daolon Wong resurrected Shendu to get the power of combustion. After Shendu was reverted back to a statue and Daolon Wong and the enforcers [who have been returned to their true forms] have been arrested, the talismans popped out of Shendu during the defeat.

Now in season 4, he must stop Tarakudo the Shadowkhan King and the enforcers from collecting the 9 omni masks [Which used to be his generals] of power that will allow him to control the shadowkhan. (And you think YOUR life is hectic!!)

Jackie Chan Adventures was nominated for three awards at the Emmy Awards for 2002 and 2001. The series was nominated for the 2001 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Special Class, received by Robert Duran (supervising sound editor), and Roshaun Hawley (dialogue editor/adr editor). Nominated for the 2002 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing - Special Class, received by the same crew members as last year, and for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing - Special Class. SAMURAI
JACK

This cartoon from Dexter's Labratory creator Genndy Tartakovsky tells the story of a great warrior displaced to the distant future by the evil shape-shifting wizard Aku. The world has become a bleak place under the rule of Aku, segregated into fantastic tribes and ruled by Aku's evil robot warlords. Jack travels this foreign landscape in search of a time portal that can return him to his home time so he can "undo the future that is Aku!".

There is a live action movie "in the works" to be directed (currently) by Brett Ratner and distributed by New Line Cinema, but this is still in early pre-production stages and will probably not see the light of day until at least 2004.

Cast:

  • Phil LaMarr - Jack
  • Mako - Aku

This Just In...

The world changes every day, and This Just In's resident conservative Brian Newport isn't happy about it one damn bit.

The kind of guy who says what everybody's thinking, Newport has no filter. If it's in his head, it's out of his mouth and there's absolutely no stopping him -- no matter what how much his friends are going to have to duck and cover. And whether it's a visit from Ted Kennedy, losing his favorite bar to women, or throwing a "Warfare" to raise money for the military still in Iraq, one thing is for sure: If it's in the news, and on your minds, it's on "This Just In."

Steve Marmel - Brian Newport
Phil Morris - Jimmy Townhouse

FUTURAMA

Futurama, set in the next millennium, follows the exploits of Fry, a pizza delivery boy who was cryogenically frozen by accident for 1,000 years; Leela, a female cyclops; Bender, an immoral robot, and others as they work for an intergalactic delivery service owned by Fry's great, great, great,..nephew, Professor Farnsworth.

Futurama has also spawned a highly successful comic series, Futurama Comics which will be going into its second year this January. They have eleven issues out in stores, with a new one coming out soon. They also have a two-part comic special titled "Futurama/Simpsons Infinitely Secret Crossover Crisis" which is a crossover between Futurama and Matt Groening's other creation, The Simpsons. Both parts are out in bookstores.

It's sad that this great show had to be cancelled by FOX. They are just airing leftover episodes from Season 4 at this point and all of the animators for Futurama are out of jobs because FOX told them to stop production. Even more sadly, most of the fans didn't see this coming. It was a slow and gradual process dating back almost to Season 2, when Futurama was constantly being pre-empted do to football games on Sundays. It caused a backup of episodes to be aired so FOX figured that they had enough episodes left to show and then they'll just milk Futurama reruns for all they're worth as well. Matt Groening has tried desperately to his show, but FOX won't allow him to save it. He tried to get it moved to another network, but FOX has the rights to the show. He tried to get it moved to a better time slot, but since FOX likes the idea of it constantly being pre-empted, they denied his request. If you look at the Sunday Night lineup, they have an empty slot at 7:30pm/6:30c in which they air Simpsons & King of the Hill reruns instead. Whenever The Simpsons or King of the Hill was pre-empted, FOX always made sure they would show it sometime later in the evening, but when it comes to Futurama, they just don't care. They treat it like yesterday's trash. Matt Groening's next idea for saving the show was possibly making a movie (a trilogy in mind) and he has been in talks with FOX about it (I wouldn't be surprised if they denied him that too). Not to mention that FOX is ignoring phone calls from fans to save the show, letters from fans to save the show, online petitions from the fans to save the show, and even more shocking, the recent Emmy win by Futurama in which Futurama took The Simpsons off of its seven year winning streak in the category "Best Animated Program for Programming Less then One Hour". That alone is telling you something there. A funny thing is that the episode Futurama won the Emmy for Roswell That Ends Well
, was pre-empted when it was supposed to be aired do to an overrun football game and a half hour postgame show as well. Good news about the show is that Cartoon Network just started to syndicate the reruns. Check your local listings for details.

But their trick backfires when ZIM safely reaches Earth and begins his ever-so-subtle conquest of it. He disguises himself as a schoolboy, and now the only person who can stop him is one kid - Dib, a somewhat insane paranormal researcher, who sees straight through ZIM's disguise and is intent on stopping his reign of "terror". Courage
the Cowardly Dog

Courage is one of Cartoon Network's original animated series and is part of the collection known as Cartoon Cartoons. The Chicken From Outer Space (the pilot) was a short on the What A Cartoon Show! in 1995 and was nominated for an Oscar in the short film animated category, but lost. Although it has won other awards. In November of 1999, it was picked up as a series.

Courage the Cowardly Dog was an abandoned dog and was found by his owner Muriel who lives in the middle of Nowhere, Kansas with her husband Eustace Bagge. Eustace is a failed farmer who farms no more. His most prized object is his old truck. He is usually watching his old black and white televison and is always asking for his meal. He is crazy about his red chair. Muriel loves to sit in her rocking chair watch her favorite show (not mentioned what it's called), cook, play her sitar, and enjoy talking with Courage. Eustace, on the other hand, dislikes Courage. He scares him with a mask. Courage is a dog almost afraid of everything and with the help of his computer he battles the villians and saves himself and his owners. They don't have any neighbors that live next door. Katz is the most common villian that is seen on the show, he thinks up wise traps to lure people into their doom. The bickering of Eustace, the old customs of Muriel, the action of the villians, and the humor of Courage make it a great show!

Since then, he's managed to pick up an assortment of oddball, but well-meaning, friends including: gluttonous Heffer Wolfe (actually a Steer, who, at a young age, was adopted by a family of wolves), faithful (but none-too-bright) pet pooch named Spunky, and paranoid hypochondriac Filburt (a turtle with a personal philosophy: "Turn the page, wash your hands, turn the page, wash your hands").

Other characters include The Bigheads (Rocko's irritable next-door neighbors), Dr. Paula Hutchison (an always smiling doctor-of-all-trades, and love interest of Filburt), and two slippery characters known as The Chameleon Brothers. These folks live in a bizarre district known as O-Town, which is actually under the industrial monopoly of a huge corporation called Conglom-O (their slogan: "We Own You"). Stephen Hillenberg still found success after Rocko, and that was what we now call SpongeBob SquarePants!

Most of the stories revolve around Rocko trying to cope with the absurdities and difficulties in modern life. And living in a place like O-Town, you can bet there are plenty of those!

Dexter is a small kid with a secret lab hidden inside his room. His jobs are usually disturbed by his older sister Dee Dee, a girl that loves ballet and candy. Unaware of the existance of Dexter's lab, Mom and Dad are the classic parents stereotypes. She loves cleaning and cooking, while he loves sports and specially bowling. Mandark is Dexter's rival, he has a laboratory as well, and he is apperently smarter than Dexter, but he is in love with Dee Dee.

Inserted inside the series are 2 "spinoffs" Dial M For Monkey and The Justice Friends, wether if it is some of the two is specified in the title. The characters of these 2 shows also appear on Dexter stories, but the title will still indicate a Dexter cartoon.
