The Simpsons were created by Matt Groening and the first episode aired December 17th, 1989 entitled Simpsons Roasting Over an Open Fire. The show has been on for over 14 seasons I think and over 300 episodes. It is most likely going to be the longest running cartoon ever.
The Simpsons home address is 742 Evergreen Terrace. They live in Springfield, but it is a fictional Springfield not Illinois or whatever it was choosen because there are 121 Spingfields in the USA.
