Biography
Born January 7, 1964, in Long Beach, CA, to a literature professor father and dancer/choreographer mother, Cage first got into acting while a student at Beverly Hills High School. After dropping out at the age of 17, he made his film debut with a small part in Amy Heckerling's 1982 classic, Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Following a lead role in 1983's Valley Girl, Cage spent the remainder of the decade playing endearingly bizarre and disreputable men, most notably in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), Raising Arizona (1987), and the same year's Moonstruck, the last of which won him a Golden Globe nomination and a legion of female fans ecstatic over the actor's unconventional romantic appeal.

National Treasure Release Date: November 24th, 2004 Cast: Nicolas Cage (Ben Franklin Gates), Justin Bartha (Riley Poole), Sean Bean (Ian Howe), Harvey Keitel, Diane Kruger (Dr. Abigail Chase), Christopher Plummer, Don McManus, Mark Pellegrino; other cast not announced yet.
Premise: Modern treasure hunters, led by an archaeologist, Ben Franklin Gates (Cage), who is the eighth descendant in a family all searching for the same thing: a massive war chest treasure reportedly hidden by George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin as funds for the Revolutionary War, using a secret code found in the Constitution (and a map that might have been drawn on the back of the Declaration of Independence) to find its location. (Kruger plays a museum curator at the Smithsonian who is central to the plot; Bartha plays Cage's best friend; Bean plays a rich British adventurer who also wants the treasure; McManus plays a National Archives intellectual; Pellegrino plays an FBI agent.)
Ghost Rider Release Date: TBA 2005 Cast: Nicolas Cage (Johnny Blaze/Ghost Rider), Jon Voight; other cast not announced yet. Premise: This is the story of motorcycle stunt performer, Johnny Blaze (Cage), who agrees to become the host of a "spirit of vengeance" in exchange for the safety of his true love, but the price he pays is to be cursed with the avenging spirit that takes its form at night as a demon with a flaming skull on a motorcycle of hellfire... According to Cinescape, this film will not be an "origin story" but will start with the Ghost Rider already in existence, though there will be some references/scenes about the origin (much like how Blade incorporated some origin details into the story, without actually being an "origin story").
Hard Boiled Release Date: Unknown; that will depend upon when filming actually takes place; given David Fincher's busy schedule, the earliest we would probably see it is 2004, 2005 or so. Cast: Nicolas Cage (Carl Seltz, AKA Nixon, AKA Unit Four); other cast not announced yet. Premise: Carl Seltz (Cage), an insurance investigator living a happy life as a husband and father, discovers that he has a secret life, even to him, as Nixon, a homocidal tax collector responsible for the deaths of hundreds. Then, Seltz/Nixon discovers something even more amazing... he's also actually Unit Four, a cyborg killing machine, and the intended savior of the enslaved robots of the future...
Land of Destiny Release Date: Unknown; that will depend upon when (if) filming actually does get started. Cast: Chow Yun-Fat (Gun-Li), Nicolas Cage (in talks); other cast not announced yet. Premise: Arriving in 19th century San Francisco with his wife, Chinese immigrant Gun-Li (Chow Yun-Fat) soon realizes that they have been sold into slavery to work on the railroads, so he sets out to exact vengeance for this misdeed, teaming up with an Irish worker (Cage; in talks) caught in a similar situation.
